Naked Steel

“Naked Steel”

I can see it now,
The bare road.
I can feel it too,
The car at my back,
Spurring me on.
The moon-man smiles down,
Urging me.
The streetlights glow,
Beckoning me onward.
It’ll steal your soul.
It’ll STEEL your soul.
I know one day God’s grace won’t seem big enough,
And Satan’s taunting will prove all too much,
But the bare road beneath my feet,
And the cars at my back,
Drive me on.
Yes, the moon-man smiles down,
Through the willow trees,
And cold stone buildings.
Manmade never made much sense.
I know one day God’s grace won’t seem big enough,
But today is not that day.
And I know one day Satan’s taunting will prove all too much,
But today is not that day.
It’ll steal your soul I tell you.
This manmade world.
Because when God-made becomes manmade,
It will all steal your soul.
